Waitlisted
- They like you but have given admit letters out to better fits for the college. If enough people reject the admit, you will be given an offer letter. Low chance of admission from this point.
- One can send in an extra letter to appeal your case/passion for the college. This will help your chances.
- You can send in something extra special. This could be higher test scores. Could be a project you’ve worked on. This will help your chances.
Declined
- You have been deemed a non-fit for the college. This is bitter, but also a good thing. You know where you don’t fit. Sometimes colleges aren’t able to measure your worth. This refines your vision, there is something better out there for you.
Deferred
This means they aren’t sure whether they want you or not. They will push your application to a further round of evaluation. The chances of getting in from here are slim. Similar to being waitlisted, send in additional material to increase your chance of admission.
