Applying for a VISA
To study in the US legally you’ll need a student VISA (called an ‘F-1 VISA’). Find more info here.
Technology
https://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/how-to-choose-a-laptop-for-college/
non-engineering
- All new laptops will be powerful enough
Engineering
- will need to run some heavy software only if stuff like Mech or Aero Eng or Chem etc etc
-
other engineers like Financial/IEOR, normal PC is fine
Cheap Phone Contracts
Might forget to pack
- UK SIM card
- US-UK Adaptor AND UK-US adaptor
- VISA form
- power strip, to scale the ability to power stuff
- You're going to want to apply for a state ID soon as you touch the US. Better than carrying your passport around.
